Current Positions Available

Resident Project Representative III

Qualified and capable of performing with little supervision. Fully knowledgeable in standards, plans, and specifications. Capable of interpretation of engineering plans, client contact, and ability to supervise others as needed. Demonstrates familiarity with construction site conditions, proactive in the construction process and looks ahead, as well as can recommend solutions on problems within his area of responsibility. Can demonstrate ability to observe and document the work, ensure quality, and enforce the contract and keep all parties coordinated and informed. Can assist the Construction Manager in administration of the contract, review of submittals, RFIs, preparation of pay requests, and review of change orders and field issues. This position leads to possible future Project Management.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 10 Years field and/or office exerience in providing construction inspection services as a project representative
  • Highway and major thoroughfare reconstruction/construction (City/County/TxDOT / Toll Road)
  • Water distribution and wastewater collection system construction and rehabilitation (large diameter a plus > 24 diameter)
  • Water and wastewater treatment plant construction > 1 MGD, grassroots and expansion; including understanding of mechanical, electrical, basic controls and operation and maintenance issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a high school diploma. BS degree a plus.

SKILLS:

  • Good written and verbal skills to be able to deal with public, stakeholders, contractors, engineers, and others involved in the life of a project
  • Needs to have a working knowledge of Mircosoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Construction scheduling and software knowledge using Microsoft Project or Primavera products a plus.

CAD Technician

CAD Technician will perform a wide variety of drafting duties that utilize Computer-Aided Design/Drafting (CAD) in developing engineering, graphical, and drafting designs. Assist in preparation of preliminary drafts of projects, determine feasibility, applications, and generate accurate and detailed records of engineering data. The technician will always be expected to exercise extensive judgment and initiative in the executing his responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs drafting operations for the determination of project plans and collects data for Project designs.
  • Prepares complex drawings for Engineering Projects
  • Develops and drafts engineering drawings and plans
  • Maintains dynamic communication with contractors, clients, engineers and the general public for engineering and/or construction issues
  • Performs fieldwork, documentation, research and drafting tasks of engineering data as requested by clients or managers
  • Performs regular computer software and AutoCAD maintenance, upgrading and troubleshooting
  • Maintains up to date working and technical knowledge of all procedural and improvement changes to computer hardware and software applications
  • Maintains plotting and printing equipment and associated software.

Minimum training and experience

  • 5-10 years experience in general civil and municipal design in the Southeast Texas Region.
  • Bachelors degree in design or related field a plus.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Microstation/Geopak a plus
  • Works as they relate to CAD drafting.
  • Skill in updating, maintaining, operating and evaluating all AutoCAD software and related equipment
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in the use of Internet browsers and email
  • Ability to work with multiple team members and managers.
